How To Make The Best Smashed Avocado
Like any millennial who doesn't own their own home, I love avocados and my absolute favourite are the smashed variety. This is great on toast but also works amazingly with chilli or as a dip to go with nachos.
1 ripe medium sized avocado
1 tbsp olive oil
1 tsp garlic puree (fresh garlic is also ok, but who has time to chop it up)
1 tsp chilli flakes
1 lime wedge (I tend to keep these frozen and run under hot water before use. Also works well with no lime)
How to make
1. Any good ripe avocado will be squishy when you squeeze it, but not too squishy. Cut down the middle and remove the stone and use the skin to squeeze out the insides into a bowl.
2. Add all over ingredients, feel free to be more generous with the chilli flakes if you like a kick.
3. Mash with a fork until preferred texture. I like mine a little lumpy. Add a pinch of salt and generous amounts of black pepper to season
4. Fork onto your toast or serve as a dip.
