Things To Watch Right Now- February 2018
Big Little Lies
In one word: incredible. It's just one of those really grippy, gritty shows that has flawed characters that you absolutely fall in love with. I compare a lot of shows to Desperate Housewives but its like a modern day, sexier Desperate Housewives. It revolves around the lives of 3 housewives based in Monterey California. It starts with a murder, but you don't know who's died and then witnesses telling their accounts of the prior weeks events. As the story unfolds more drama and layers unravel. The cast is also incredibly talented; Reese Witherspoon, Nicole Kidman and Shailene Woodley. As well as Alexander Skarsgard who I've fancied since his True Blood days and fun fact his brother, Bill, plays IT in my favourite film from last year. Anyway I'm ranting. Seriously good series that I wholeheartedly recommend.
Available currently on Sky Boxsets or you can buy it here
The Zookeepers Wife
Fantastic little film set in WW2 in Poland, in Warsaw Zoo. About a wife and mother who became a hero to hundreds. Without giving too much away, if you don't like animals dying in films I wouldn't recommend this film. But in fairness it's a film about a zoo set in WW2 Poland, so I don't know what else you would expect. A seriously beautiful little film though. Had me in tears throughout.
Will & Grace
I admit, I was reluctant when I heard one of my beloved TV series was coming back. As much as I love say, Friends or Buffy, you worry that if they come back the old jokes will tired, and the actors are just there because they never made it big in any other show/tv aka Sex and The City 2. But they're back and better than ever, like Sex and The City 1 and probably would have been Sex and The City 3. It's still funny and it's still got a lot of heart and sends a great message about sexuality and friendship without being too preachy. One of the most recent episodes had me absolutely blubbering like a baby, I shan't digress too much or I'll spoil it. If you're a fan of the old shows I would definitely give it a watch.
Available on My5 and shown on every Friday at 10pm on Channel 5.
Also shout out to Stranger Things 2, 13 Reasons Why and Buffy season 6 who i've been rewatching over the last few weeks you can see my previous posts on Stranger Things and 13 Reasons Why, here.
