Breville Blend Active Review

I've seen loads of people buying Nutribullets and I was absolutely intrigued by them. I love smoothies, soups and milkshakes and basically anything blended and liquidised. I looked into buying one late the other night and then saw how ridiculously expensive they are. £100 for their cheapest model. I then found a much cheaper alternative on Amazon called Blend Active by Breville.

I have a lot of Breville appliances in my kitchen. I have their super cute pastel Toaster (here) and Kettle (here) so I knew they were a brand I could trust and at only £20 you can't really go wrong.
I've had the Blend Active for a week now and I'm obsessed.

So, so easy to use. It blends really well and its so easy to clean which was always a pain with my previous blender.

You use your plastic bottles as the container for all the fruit and the part with the blend detaches really easily, you attach it to the base and blend away. Once you're done you can attach the lid to keep the smoothie fresh. You can buy lots of bottles or sets with several bottles for a higher price. I bought the basic which comes with two bottles so you can make one for the day ahead and one for the next day.

It's a great way to eat more fruit or veg and if you're a person who isn't really into eating in the morning you can have a shake with plenty of vitamins in that will fill you up till lunch and kick start your metabolism.
Recommend it for anyone who's trying to lose weight, trying to live a healthier life style or anyone who just bloody loves a smoothie.

I think you can do the same for soups but I'm yet to give them a go. Although I think I will as they will be super handy for work.

If you're not a fan of buying lots of expensive fruit as a cheaper alternative, I recommend buying frozen fruit. You get much more for your money and it doesn't go off.

And make sure you add some form of liquid to it like milk, yoghurt or water so its not like a puree.

Some of my favourite recipes include:

  • Strawberries, banana, milk, oats and honey

  • Blueberry, raspberry, cranberry, natural yoghurt banana, honey and cinnamon

  • Peach, apple, lemon, mango, water

  • Cranberry, apple, grapes, strawberries, water
