How to make a smoothie

As mentioned in yesterdays post I decided to buy myself a blender. I bought this blender for £16 (bargain) from Tesco as I thought it would be a great little investment. Its a great and cheap way to make lots of meals including soups/pasta sauces and you can also make amazing milkshakes/smoothies. This morning I got up and made myself the most delicious smoothie which was very cheaply made as I got only Tesco Value fruits. It cost me just over £6 for all the ingredients, many of which I can reuse. Especially the honey. I use honey in nearly everything; with porridge with tea, smothered over chicken. Its a great way to sweeten food with using sugar. You can adapt the recipe to any fruits you want really. I recommend just going to the reduced section and seeing what they've got add it all in a blender with some yoghurt and see what concoction you make.

You will need:
  • 2 bananas (£1.15 Tesco Everyday Value pack of 8)
  • 4 strawberries (£1.75 400g Tesco Everyday Value)
  • 1 kiwi (£1 6 pack Tesco)
  • 1 tea spoon of honey (£0.99 340g Tesco Everyday)
  • 100ml of milk (£0.89 2 pints Tesco)
  • 250g low fat yoghurt (£0.45 500g Tesco Everyday Value)

Method: Add all ingredients to the blender and blend. Simple

Note: Will make one tall glass of smoothie (with a little left over as a taster)
