Dress: River Island
Ass skimming. That is the best way to describe this top that I definitely wore as a dress. But I'm totally obsessed with it. I saw it on my lunch break with my pal Lou after we had a major gossip session and huge catch up after he hol in Tenerife (not jealous even a little...). Last week I was all about silhouettes and femininity and now I'm obsessed with smock and shift dresses. As Lou correctly pointed out, this is very Mary Quant esque. It's from Chelsea Girl for River Island which is one of my favourite brands ever. I had a couple of items from there and I just adore their 60s/70s/80s throw back. Some of their stuff I admit isn't to my taste. They had a pussybow blouse which was stunning but I just don't think I could ever pull that off. But I always love their dresses and as their a vintage style their usually timeless which is what my whole buying method is about these days. Style over trend.
Today was spent shopping in town avoiding cleaning my house and then I wandered round town avoiding going to the hairdressers. I finally bit the bullet and went and my hair feels 100% better. I think I've developed a phobia of having my hair cut because most times I go there my hairdresser just tells me how damaged my hair is and that they're going to have to cut several inches off. Though this time my hair was in much better condition. I also bought a new MAC lipstick in Peach Blossom. I wanted something that was a daily wear lipstick and its absolutely perfect.
Then I came back and faced the inevitable and tidied my house for like 4 hours and now I feel so refreshed. There is literally nothing better than a tidy house. Yes, I'm old.
